Top Rugby Clubs Accept Union’s Promotion Proposals

The EFDR Board today accepted the RFU proposals, as approved by the RFU Management Board on the 12th January this year, subject to both EFDR and the RFU completing a long form agreement within 28 days.

Under the RFU proposals this season and next will see one up/one down automatic promotion to and relegation from the top division. From the 2002/2003 season promotion/relegation will be decided via a play-off.
