The richest Badminton event on the IBF World Grand Prix series – the China Open, has renewed its distribution agreement for the next 3-years with Swedish television agency IEC in Sports. The 6-star event features 250,000 USD in prize money and show-cases all the top ranked players in the sport including the Olympic and World Champions. IEC has represented the TV rights to the event since 2001 and will now continue its world-wide distribution from 2005 to 2007. “We are delighted to continue our excellent cooperation with our friends in China to handle the television marketing of this prestigious tournament.  This is one of the key events within the IEC in Sports Badminton portfolio and we look forward to maximizing its distribution on a global basis in this fresh 3-year term” said Anders Bjorkman, Director of TV Properties at IEC in Sports. IEC in Sports has distributed IBF World Grand Prix Badminton tournaments since the companies inception in 1994 and is regularly handling most of the top World Grand Prix events including the Japan Open, Korea Open, Singapore Open, Indonesia Open, Malaysia Open, Hong Kong Open, Thailand Open, German Open and Dutch Open.  The company has also distributed the last two editions of the European Badminton Championships and Asian Badminton Championships.
