Switzerland: March 3, 2015 – Surfing on the success of the last edition in 2014, the World Union of Olympic Cities is pleased to announce the second edition of the "Smart Cities & Sport Summit" which will be held on 12-14 October this year in Lausanne, Switzerland. 

The conference is aimed at representatives of cities, regions and countries around the world interested in learning more about effective and smart strategies for connecting sport and cities. Whether they plan to host sporting events or to create new ways of developing active and healthy life-styles in their city, the conference provides a high-level and prestigious platform for the exchange of ideas and experience among cities of all sizes. 

Ms Mélanie Duparc, Secretary General of the World Union of Olympic Cities, commented:

The "Smart Cities and Sport Summit" is a unique occasion to expand our knowledge about how sport and cites can interact in a smarter and more sustainable way. With this conference the World Union of Olympic Cities aims to reach out to peers from around world to share experience and best practice and to learn from world class experts from the wider sports industry.
