In 1984, the Games of the XXIII Olympiad brought the best of sport to Southern California.  The city and people of Los Angeles demonstrated what can be accomplished when we work together toward a common goal.

Today, the spirit of the 1984 Olympic Games lives on.  Through direct grants, sponsored programs and refurbishment of facilities, our Foundation has enabled millions of youth to discover and develop their potential by participating in sports.  For over 20 years we have provided fresh insight into the most pressing issues in youth sports, guided coaches to cultivate the best in their athletes and strengthened the ties between generations and communities.  And while we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, we’re even more excited about our future impact.

To clarify public understanding, signal our renewed energy, urgency and commitment, and to perpetually honor the spirit of the Games that led to our existence, we are proud to announce that we have changed our name from the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles to the LA84 Foundation.

Although our name, logo and colors have changed, our commitment to advancing youth sport in Southern California has not.  In the years to come, we will continue to champion the foundational role sport plays in providing today’s youth with the skills they need to take on the challenges of life.

Below, under my name, is my updated contact information.  I hope you share in our excitement at this new chapter in our history and invite you to learn more at http://www.la84foundation.org/
