The 1999/2000 UEFA Champions League Group Stage Draw

In Monaco today (26/8/99) the draw for the UEFA Champions League was held. The newly enlarged tournament now encompasses an initial group stage: Eight Groups, each with Four teams. In each group there is a seeded team as listed below.

The exact fixtures are at this stage not yet known as the draw will take place tommorrow (27/8/99) and Sportcal will be providing this information as soon as it is released.

The initial games are to be played on September 14th and 15th 1999, kick off times 20.45 (cet)

GROUPS AND TEAMS FOR THE FIRST GROUP STAGE:

Group A: LAZIO (ITA) (seed), BAYERN LEVERKUSEN (GER), DYNAMO KYEV (UKR), MARIBOR (SLO).
Group B: BARCELONA (ESP) (seed), FIORENTINA (ITA), ARSENAL (GBR-ENG), AIK SOLNA (SWE).

Group C: BORUSSIA DORTMUND (GER) (seed), FEYENOORD (NED), ROSENBORG (NOR), BOAVISTA (POR).

Group D: MANCHESTER UNITED (GBR-ENG) (seed), OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE (FRA), CROATIA ZAGREB (CRO), STURM GRAZ (AUT).

Group E: REAL MADRID (ESP) (seed), PORTO (POR), OLYMPIAKOS (GRE), MOLDE (NOR).

Group F: BAYERN MUNICH (GER) (seed), PSV EINDHOVEN (NED), VALENCIA (ESP), GLASGOW RANGERS (GBR-SCO).

Group G: SPARTAK MOSCOW (RUS) (seed), BORDEAUX (FRA), SPARTA PRAGUE (CZE), WILLEM II TILBURG (NED).

Group H: AC MILAN (ITA) (seed), CHELSEA (GBR-ENG), GALATASARAY (TUR) , HERTHA BERLIN (GER).
