The winner will get to be mentored by ASICS leaders, application deadline: 3.9.2017

Boston, MA, August 31, 2017 – The HYPE Foundation, a platform that connects and invests in sports startups globally, is proud to partner with ASICS and conduct a Global Sports Innovation (SPIN) Final competition, taking in Boston on October 11-12, 2017. 
Startups in the sports and fitness space are invited to apply here, application deadline: September 3, 2017.

What:
Opportunity for startup focused on sports & fitness to pitch their ideas to ASICS management, top technology and sports brands, investors, and leaders in the sports industry. The event will also feature an exhibit of leading Sports startups in the HYPE TOP50 program.

Who:
Jury member will include the following leaders:
Gerard Klein, Global General Manager at ASICS Corporation
Shinji Senda, Sr. GM Easy Running & Training Footwear, ASICS
Paul Miles, Sr. GM Marketing, ASICS
Tsuyoshi Nishiwaki, Head of R&D and ISS (Institute of Sport Science) at ASICS
And leaders from ESPN, Spalding, Babson college.

Where:
Sports Innovation (SPIN) Final competition: Thursday October 12,2017, 18:00-21:00, at We Work Mass Av. in Cambridge.

As a grand prize for the competition ASICS is offering the opportunity to be mentored by members of the Runkeeper leadership team and work with ASICS in their Global R&D Center and get mentored by the brand's leading teams on potential integration into ASICS Products.

The Top 3 winning startups will receive 1 year membership to the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft

On Wednesday October 11, a Student ideation hackathon will take place at Babson college, aiming to come out with innovative solutions to challenges in the sports & fitness spaces.

This competition is a part of series of global sports innovation competitions HYPE Foundation is running in the past few years alongside major sports events like Rio 2016 Olympics, UEFA Champions League Final and the NFL Draft and the recent Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade. Boston was chosen for this global event as it is known as the city of tech and runners.
