Sports.com Limited, the leading mobile and fixed Internet provider of European sports content, community and commerce, has today announced its exclusive designation as Official Sports Partner of Wimbledon.org for The All England Lawn Tennis Club. The agreement is expected to make the official Wimbledon Web site more accessible to an even wider audience.

As part of the agreement, some Wimbledon.org content, including live scores, will complement Sports.com’s own reporting and analysis of the Championships across Sports.com’s Web sites in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. An additional benefit to those tennis fans using Wimbledon.org is the ability to link directly to Sports.com to obtain up to the minute details of other sports news.

An additional benefit for Sports.com users is the ability to purchase official Wimbledon merchandise through the Sports.com e-commerce shop.

‘Wimbledon is one of the world’s premier sporting events,’ said Tom Jessiman, Managing Director of Sports.com. ‘Wimbledon.org is one of the world’s greatest sports Web sites, and Sports.com is the most visited European sports site. Both sites will benefit from the sharing of content and audiences.’

‘The Sports.com association gives the Club additional opportunities to expand its e-commerce merchandising business as well as providing a means for our fans to gain immediate access to details of other sports news. It also helps to bring a wider audience to Wimbledon.org,’ said Rob McCowen, Marketing Director of The All England Club.

IBM has been the Club’s Official Supplier of Information Technology and Consultancy since 1990. IBM, in conjunction with the Club, develops and designs the Wimbledon Web site, Wimbledon.org, which was first launched in 1995.

Sports.com is also the exclusive Internet sports media partner for the official site of Manchester United (www.manutd.com), the official site of the French National Olympic Committee (www.franceolympique.com), and the official site of the Rugby World Cup in 1999 (www.rwc99.com).
