A £11m sponsorship for English cricket has been sold by Sportsworld Media & Marketing, the new operating name for Sports and Outdoor Media, exclusive Marketing Agents to the ECB and the SRU. The company also represents the FA.

Sportsworld Media Group has successfully expanded its expertise in television, event management, sponsorship, sports stadia advertising and new media over the past year, and is currently one of the fastest growing media companies in the FTSE 250.

The Group works not only with sports and events but also with broadcasters, global advertisers, internet providers, telecoms and merchandising companies to fully exploit properties.

In particular it offers brands, worried about the demise of the TV commercial break, the opportunity to move into programme content through coverage of the properties it owns. Sportsworld Media and Marketing will manage the group’s operations throughout Europe and is an integral part of the overall global structure.

Geoff Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Sportsworld Media Group comments, ‘The acquisition of SOMI has been a highly successful one for the Sportsworld Media Group. It has been incorporated within the newly named Sportsworld Media and Marketing and their highly successful management team have been assigned the broader responsibility for the new group. Sportsworld Media and Marketing will be responsible for the group’s activities in sport stadia management, sponsorship, consulting, talent management and the Group’s New Media activities.’

Keith Impey, Managing Director of Sportsworld Media and Marketing remarked, ‘This is wonderful news for our company. By fully integrating into the Sportsworld brand, we are able to access a truly global marketing group. This vastly increases the offering to our clients and rights holders and provides additional levels of management and resource.’
