Sporting Frontiers Group, established in September 2000 by Simon Halden, formerly Chief Executive of Sports & Outdoor Media International PLC, with the financial backing of Pacific Investments PLC, Sir John Beckwith’s private equity business today announces a change of name with immediate effect. The business will now operate as the Frontiers Group.

The change of name has been introduced as a consequence of the expansion of business activity that sees the Group operating in a number of exciting, complementary areas of activity. The business is now focused on developing long-term commercial rights (including sponsorship, event creation and management and broadcast opportunities) in sport, entertainment, music and media. Recently, the Group has been involved in a series of music-related activities, including Raymond Weil’s successful sponsorship of the female classical pop band Bond, alongside the entertainment projects undertaken for Walt Disney in Australia and China, the Really Useful Group in South Africa, UK and China and the forthcoming tour of Australia by the world-renowned extreme motorcycle show, Crusty Demons. To support these international activities, the Group has established offices in UK, China, India, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Simon Halden, Chief Executive of the Frontiers Group, commented,

‘We have invested in a number of highly-motivated and entrepreneurial teams, both in the UK and internationally, and as a result we have enjoyed significant success and growth in a sector which is experiencing difficulties. Having a solid foundation and good reputation in the sports sector has enabled us to expand our operations to include other activities, particularly in music and entertainment, and we anticipate repeating our success in those areas.’

In the UK under the leadership of Matthew and Kevin Vandrau, Frontiers Group UK has recently enjoyed tremendous success, operating a thriving consultancy division whose clients include: Visa CEMEA, Raymond Weil Geneve, SAB Miller, AEG, Teletext and INVESCO PERPETUAL.

Frontiers Group UK rights division has recently been awarded the sole and exclusive agency rights for all the seven England & Wales Cricket Test Match Grounds. Additionally, the team is responsible for marketing and sales of the innovative broadcast system Aerial Camera ‘Blimp’ which is now a common sight at many of the major sporting events throughout the UK.

‘Our approach is simple’, says Matthew Vandrau CEO of the UK business, ‘we put into practice our ethos of performing with passion and the results are there to be seen. We have developed a transparent, professional, fun environment where our clients get great results and enjoy a fantastic relationship based on success and access to a wonderful team.’
