The European Athletic Association (EAA) and International SPAR are pleased to announce the renewal for a further four years of the SPAR sponsorship of the EAA’s championship series of events.

International SPAR has been the principal sponsor of the EAA since 1996.

This sponsorship included the European Championships in Budapest (1998) and Munich (2002), and the European Indoor Championships in Stockholm, Valencia, Ghent and Vienna. SPAR is the title sponsor of two annual events; the SPAR
European Cup and the SPAR European Cross Country Championships.

The new contract will commence on 1st January 2004 and run to the end of 2007, incorporating the following EAA events:

– European Championships 2006.
– European Indoor Championships 2005 and 2007.
– SPAR European Cup annually.
– SPAR European Cross Country Championships annually.
– European Indoor Cup 2004 and 2006.

Hansjörg Wirz, EAA President, said, ‘we are delighted that SPAR has decided to continue as a partner of the EAA for a further four years. We have enjoyed a very co-operative and mutually beneficial relationship with SPAR since 1996 and look forward to this continuing into the future.’

principal sponsorship through to 2007. We look forward not only to the next European Championship in Gothenburg in 2006 but to all of the events in the EAA programme.’
