South Africa’s top track and field athletes gather at Esselenpark

South Africa’s top track and field athletes gather this weekend at Esselenpark for a briefing on the preparation for the Sydney Olympics Games and the 2000 athletics season. All athletes who have represented South Africa recently are invited to the meeting. Amongst other topics will be ASA’s draft Selection Criteria for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. “2000 is a very important year for athletes and it is vital that they focus on preparing themselves well for the Olympics. This meeting provides an opportunity for the athletes to express their views to ASA, on the Selection Criteria.” said Banele Sindani, ASA’s Chief Executive Officer. The seminar takes place at Esselenpark, at 9.00 am on Saturday, 20 November 1999. Ends.
