An Adelaide company called Sharksafe has made available free-of-charge four electronic shark repelling devices that will be worn by divers surveying the event for eventual shark attacks on the Triathlon athletes.

The system was approved for use at the Olympic event and the devices, weighing about a kilogram, will be strapped on divers swimming below the competitions.

The device sends out a special electrical field that sharks can’t tolerate and keeps them out of menacing distance.
