The Smart Cities & Sport Summit will soon kick-off (5-7 November 2014) in Lausanne, and everything is ready to make this conference an exceptional event!

A great list of world class sports cities

The World Union of Olympic Cities are happy to announce that more than 40 cities from all around the world will be present at this new and exciting conference. Leading sports and event host cities will spark conversations, share experiences and give presentations on November 5-7 in the Olympic Capital.

From "Integrating major sports events into wider city plans" to "How to succeed in building public support for sports investments?", going through "The role of sport in an active and healthy city", the Smart Cities & Sport Summit will cover a wide array of topics, all of them converging upon one goal: learning more about smart and effective strategies that connect sport and cities.

Marketplace: the place to be!

The Marketplace will take place for two hours on the second day of the conference on November 6. The concept is simple: an open space in which participating cities have the opportunity to meet representatives from international sports organisations, event organisers, sports media and various suppliers.

The marketplace floor will host numerous signposted stands where participants of the conference can walk between the different tables and interact with the different suppliers, international federations, cities and many more. Organised in a dynamic format, this will be a unique occasion in which to make connections and extend your network.

IOC Top Sponsor to present at the Summit!

The Dow Chemical Company, a member of the elite group of IOC worldwide TOP partners and Official Chemistry Company of the Olympic Games, will deliver insights on how to collaborate with cities and provide expertise in order to enhance their relationship. Nalain Naidoo, Director of Olympic Development from Dow, will present a case during the session called "Sports cities and commercial partners – how to collaborate?" and her contribution will provide insights from the Company point of view.
