SFX Sports Group, a unit of SFX Entertainment, Inc, significantly strengthened its athlete representation business with the acquisition today of Speakers of Sport, one of the country’s top baseball talent representation agencies.

Speakers of Sport was founded in 1976 by Jim Bronner and Bob Gilhooley. Under their leadership, the company has built a client list that includes many of the Major League Baseball’s premier players, including two time American League MVP Mariano Rivera and 1997 National League MVP Larry Walker. Other clients include All-Stars Moises Alou, Andres Galarraga, Vladimir Guerrero, Ramon Martinez, Jamie Moyer, Charles Nagy and Jim Thome.

Speaker of Sport maintains its headquarters in Chicago, with an additional office in Sarasota, Florida, from which Fernando Cuza heads the firm’s Latin American operations. The acquisition continues SFX’s efforts to build a talent management and marketing business of unmatched leadership and geographic reach. Additional SFX senior talent representatives include Alan and Randy Hendricks in Houston, Arn Tellem in Los Angeles, David Falk and Ivan Blumberg in Washington DC and others in New York, Miami, London and Australia.
