The Europe 2 competition will be staged in Madrid on July 1 and 2. The top three teams from the 16 team event will qualify for the 24-team RWC 2001 Sevens in Mar del Plata, Argentina from January 26-28. Teams competing in Madrid are Andorra, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Ukraine. In all, 91 countries – the full membership of the IRB – will have a chance to qualify for the 2001 RWC Sevens
