SBS and TWI to Host Broadcast Athletics Grand Prix Final

SBS (Special Broadcasting Service)/TWI (Trans World International) has been appointed as the Host Broadcaster for the IAAF Grand Prix Final in Melbourne on 9 September with its objective to provide an outstanding coverage of the event and to support and service all rights holding broadcasters.

SBS and TWI decided to pool collective strengths to provide a world class broadcast service. SBS is a strong national domestic broadcaster while TWI brings resources and experience as one of the world’s leading international sports production companies.

SBS, although just 20 years old, has a proud history in host broadcasting international events including the 1993 FIFA World Youth Championships (soccer), 1996 World Mountain Bike Championships, 2000 Tour Down Under (cycling) and the 1997 World Cup Qualifier between Australia and Iran.

TWI’s programming covers a range of sports and events including Wimbledon, English Premier League Football, US PGA Golf Tour and the Nobel Prize Ceremony. It produces and packages television programming for network broadcasts and represents the media rights to more than 50 major sport and entertainment organisations.
