Leeds Rhinos today announced that they have secured existing club sponsors Carlsberg-Tetley Brewing Ltd for a further three years in the biggest ever single sponsorship secured by the club.
The deal, which is worth in excess of half a million pounds, will run until the end of 2006 and continues a ten year relationship between the Rhinos and the Leeds based brewer. The sponsorship of the Rhinos is the largest sponsorship deal in Super League and is the longest serving sponsor of any rugby club in England, of either code.
The distinctive Tetley’s logo will feature on the front of the Rhinos shirt, as it has done since 1994, with the new home shirt revealed next Tuesday, 11th November at a special press conference at Headingley before it goes on sale the following Saturday.
Commenting on the announcement Chief Executive Gary Hetherington said, ‘We are delighted to have agreed this deal to continue our excellent relationship with Carlsberg-Tetley. We have always worked extremely close together to the benefit of both organisations and it is a real boost to know that we can continue that work over the next three years and hopefully longer in the future.
‘Carlsberg-Tetley are terrific backers of Rugby League and there continued support for the Rhinos and Headingley will benefit us for many years to come,’ added Hetherington.
Ian Thomas, Carlsberg-Tetley Sales Director, said: ‘Tetley’s are delighted to renew our sponsorship deal with Leeds Rhinos and are excited about the continued opportunities that this deal will provide for ourselves, Leeds Rhinos players, officials and supporters. Our support of the Leeds Rhinos reinforces our commitment to rugby league in the region.’
Tetley’s are also the official sponsors of the Tetley’s Super League and the Tetley’s South Stand at Headingley Stadium.
