The fortunes of leading UK based rugby brand KooGa are looking considerably brighter as it has signed a deal to become part of the multi-national Kettner Group, which also owns the Sola Wetsuits and Body Glove brands.
KooGa continues to build on its position as a leading player within the UK and global rugby market. KooGa’s high level of sales penetration in the UK and France will provide Sola with a strong market position especially in the extensive French sports marine market. Kooga also has distribution facilities across Europe, the US and Canada as well in Australia, Japan and Argentina.
The brand Kooga will continue to work out of its base in Manchester and will maintain their own strategic control as well as being responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of their brands whilst the Kettner Group will be responsible fro the overall group strategy.
The Kettner Group will bring significant opportunities for all the brands involved particularly from a financial and manufacturing perspective. The synergies will help manage the seasonality which affects the different brands within the group and both parties will benefit from economies of scale.
Shak Anwar, Managing Director, adds, ‘This new deal provides a fantastic opportunity for the KooGa brand and will play a major role in ensuring future growth. The KooGa brand is now part of a multi branded distribution business with annual turnover of £10 million which will afford us huge benefits. The fact that the brands themselves are incredibly sexy and exciting adds even more value.’
