The Executive Board of KirchMedia GmbH & Co. KGaA has appointed Dr. Alexander Ritvay (37) as new Head of Sports, with immediate effect.

The lawyer will be managing the Sports Division of KirchMedia, comprising sport-rights trading (including 2006 World Cup, German Football League), the broadcasting station DSF, the databank service-provider IMP AG and the production company PlazaMedia.

As Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Formula 1 investment company, Speed Investments Ltd., and member of the boards of various companies belonging to the Formula 1 holding company, SLEC, Alexander Ritvay until recently was responsible for the activities of the KirchGruppe in the Formula 1 sector. Prior to this, Ritvay managed the KirchGruppe Mergers & Acquisitions Division.
