The Rugby Football League have pledged to support a bid by a North-East consortium to re-form the Gateshead Thunder. The Thunderstorms, an action group formed in the wake of Gateshead’s decision to merge with fellow Super League club Hull, are now preparing an application to join the Northern Ford Premiership in time for next season.
