Hamburg / June 14th, 2007 – On June 19th, the Peres Center for Peace will host Real Madrid in Israel to participate in a Peace Match with the Peres Center’s Peace Team – a mixed group of Palestinians and Israelis, Arabs and Jews.

SPORTFIVE Ltd., the Israeli subsidiary of the international sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE, is the exclusive partner of the Israel Football Association and as such responsible for all commercial rights to League and National Team in Israel. SPORTFIVE support the successful outcome of this event, complimentary contributing its international network to distribute the media rights of the Peace-Match.  

SPORTFIVE will furthermore provide a free worldwide webcast of the match at http://www.peace.videosport.com/, where viewers will also have the option of donating directly to the Peres Center online. The production firm Plazamedia will handle the technical side of the Internet broadcast, and is providing its services free of charge for the project as well.

This exceptional “Peace Match” is the first to be held in Israel following a series of similar matches abroad against leading international teams. The proceeds from the game will benefit the “Twinned Peace Soccer Schools” program, which caters to Palestinian and Israeli youth from disadvantaged and peripheral communities.

The Real Madrid stars that will travel to Israel for this unprecedented event include: Cassillas, Salgado, Sergio Ramos, Cannavaro, Raul, Emerson, Diego Lopez, Guti, van Nistelrooy, Helguera, Mejia – and more.  Participating in the match on the Peace Team coached by the Israeli National Coach Dror Kashtan along with a Palestinian Coach are: Idan Tal (Bolton Wanderers, England), Yossi Benayoun (Westham United, England), Pini Balili (Kayserspor, Turkey), Dudu Awate (Deportivo La Coruna, Spain), Abbas Sawan and more.
