The Subaru World Rally Team is 23 points ahead of its rivals in the World Rally Championship for Manufacturers and a million miles ahead in WAP technology, thanks to a unique collaboration with leading independent Web agency, Domino Systems.

Ready for the next round of the World Rally Championship in Greece on June 8th, Domino Systems and the Subaru World Rally Team will launch the WAP site that will lead the way in rallying’s communication of results to its worldwide enthusiasts. Fans, the media and anyone with an interest in the sport will be able to access rally results almost instantaneously using WAP-enabled mobile phones, anytime, anywhere. There’s no need to endure -40C in northern Sweden or +40C in Greece to see and feel the action – just dial in to the Subaru World Rally Team’s WAP site at www.swrt.com/wap/

‘WAP is the perfect communication solution for rallying,’ says Subaru Account Director, Liam Clogger. ‘Typically, a rally takes place over three days across a 1,000 km route, quite often set in some of the world’s harshest and most unforgiving terrain. WAP offers immediacy, bringing this remote action from the field to the palm of your hand. Aficionados, the media and our 65 Subaru territories around the world no longer need to be tied to their transistor radio, teletext service or computer to stay in touch with the latest developments – our WAP service will provide information updated every two minutes.’

For those without a WAP-enabled mobile phone, a demonstration of the Subaru World Rally Team’s WAP site can be seen by visiting its web site at www.swrt.com/site/wap.html
