Queens Park Rangers have clinched a sponsorship deal with high-street retailer JD Sports. The Loftus Road club have signed a one-year deal with the sports fashion retailer, forming a partnership which will benefit both QPR fans and the customers who visit the 132 JD Sports stores nationwide.
Commenting on the deal, QPR commercial and marketing director Mark Devlin said: ‘We’re delighted to have signed a deal with one of the biggest sports retailers in the country. This is one of the biggest sponsorship agreements in the division and it’s tremendous to have attracted a major brand to Loftus Road.
‘We are looking forward to forming a close partnership that will benefit both supporters of QPR and customers of JD Sports. A lot of hard work has gone into this deal and it hasn’t been easy with the club in administration, and this deal recognises that QPR can still attract strong brands as sponsors.’
Tim Gardiner, marketing director of JD Sports, said: ‘We see this as a great opportunity to gain further profile within London and indeed nationwide. Queens Park Rangers is a club with great heritage and we look forward to working with them during the season ahead.’
As part of the sponsorship deal, the QPR home shirt will carry the JD Sports logo with the away shirt bearing the logo JD Sports – King of Trainers.
