In May 2001, PSN is the number 1 pay TV network in Argentina among the main demographic group Cable Men 18-49 Prime time.
Pan-american Sports Network -PSN-, the leading panregional pay TV sports network in Latin America, announced today its most recent ratings in Argentina. According to the cable ratings provided by IBOPE Media in Argentina, PSN was the highest rated panregional sports network in the main Latin American Pay-TV market during May for Men 18-49 and Cable Households.
According to the Pay-TV ratings provided by IBOPE Media, PSN was rated the first network in two of the most important audience segments: cable men 18-49 Monday to Friday primetime, cable men 18-49 Monday to Sunday primetime.
PSN was also rated second in cable households primetime. PSN also had 24 out of the 30 most viewed programs among cable men 18-49 and cable households in Argentina.
PSN has not only become the most viewed panregional sports network, but also continues to outperform the other panregional sports networks in the most important and competitive market in Latin America. The key to PSN’s success since its launch on February 2000 is its programming.
The outstanding results of the Copa Libertadores, Formula 1 and the Italian League coverage have been followed by other sports events with a high level of popularity in Latin America such as ATP and WTA tournaments, PGA Golf tournaments as well as the World Cup 2002 Qualifiers from Conmebol, Concacaf and UEFA. In addition to the live events which are the cornerstone of PSN, the network has obtained very good ratings with original productions such as PSN News, Tenis América Latina, Technomundo and Show de goles.
‘PSN has been able to consolidate its position as a leading panregional sports network with outstanding ratings in Argentina and other key markets in the region. In addition, PSN is reaching its target audience not only during the weekly primetime, but also during the weekends.
It is very important for PSN to be placed as a first preference for the Latin American sports fans. PSN is committed to working to deliver the high caliber programming that the audience has come to expect’, said Sebastian Domínguez, Executive Vice President of Broadcasting of PSN.
Another element that sets off the difference among the Pay-TV sports networks is the interaction and participation of viewers in innovative promotions developed with PSN.com.
In order to implement its ‘proximity’ concept, which is based on bringing the sports close to the sports fans, PSN and PSN.com have developed strong promotions related to sports events, as well as chats on-line with Latin American athletes and players.
