ProEvents, the leading football promoter in Asia, has signed Finland (ranked 40) to play against the China in Guangzhou and Shenzhen on February 3 & 7 respectively as part of China’s preparation for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany(TM) Asian zone qualifying matches.

‘Once again, we are pleased to assist our home team to secure the type of preparation match required by Arie Haan, the China national coach,’ said Paul Kam, Chairman of ProEvents who also organized China against Brazil in February 2003. ‘Being the last two preparation matches before playing against Kuwait on February 18th which will be the first qualifying match for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany(TM), both matches are expected to be well attended by mainland supporters as well as from Hong Kong.’

Commenting on the two matches, Mr Pekka Hämäläinen, President of the Football Association of Finland, said ‘This is the first time that our men’s national team visits China and we are grateful for the China Football Association’s invitation. These two matches in China will prepare both teams for the FIFA World Cup 2006 qualification competition and we hope we will meet again in Germany after two years.’
