Singapore, 24 March 2009 – The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) and Pilot Pen Singapore (Pilot Pen) have signed a Memorandum of Intent (MOI), under which Pilot Pen will sponsor writing instruments for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010).
As the Official Writing Instruments Sponsor for Singapore 2010, Pilot Pen will provide writing instruments for athletes, officials and volunteers. Premium items such
as fountain pens will also be sponsored as one of Singapore 2010’s corporate gifts.
“Pilot pens to school-going students are a part of their educational journey as much as the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games is a learning and sporting journey for
the young athletes and the youths. Writing instruments are in a way, a form of nurturing tool which we use to practise our handwriting and express our thoughts. Singapore 2010, like writing instruments, is also a platform for the youths to hone their sporting skills and to learn about different cultures from other athletes. We are happy to be part of this congruent relationship,” said Mr Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of SYOGOC.
Mr Tan Chin Huat, Managing Director of Pilot Pen Singapore, said, “Our products are synonymous with the youth, their dreams and ambitions. Thus becoming a part of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games is very much in line with our core beliefs. Being the Official Sponsor for the Games is a strong testament to the outstanding quality of our pens and its ability to transcend global boundaries and connect different cultures. We are very proud to be a part of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.”
