Oscar Jacobson, the Swedish clothing company, has entered into a two year contract to be the Official Clothing Supplier to The European Tour. During the 2004 season, all the Field Staff on The European Tour International Schedule and the European Challenge Tour will be wearing Oscar Jacobson clothing.
Oscar Jacobson, which celebrated its centenary in 2003, will use its latest technical products such as SPORTWOOL polo shirts and OUTLAST climate control trousers to ensure that European Tour staff feel comfortable in all weather conditions.
The company, based in Boras near Gothenburg in Sweden, has established itself as one of Europe’s leading sportswear brands and concentrates on the highest quality products both in High Street and golf course outlets. Oscar Jacobson can be found in the top golf resort facilities in Europe as well as in most prestigious private member clubs.
Within the UK, Oscar Jacobson established the brand working with Austin Reed and later with Lillywhites, Harrods and Selfridges and has a unique Oscar Jacobson shop in Golf Place (off the 18th green at St Andrews).
The association with The European Tour, the Professional Golfers Association and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews has been built up over many years, through the provision of trousers and uniforms to The European Ryder Cup Team (since 1985), Walker Cup, PGA Cup and Solheim Cup. Oscar Jacobson is currently supplier to many national golf federations throughout Europe such as the English Golf Union, the Swedish, German, and Dutch Golf Federations.
