PepsiCo has reached a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the National Football League, it was announced today.
Beginning in the upcoming 2002 season, Pepsi-Cola will become the ‘official soft drink sponsor of the NFL.’
PepsiCo may use NFL logos in advertising and promotions.
NFL clubs also will be able to sell local sponsorship packages to Pepsi and other soft drink companies.
Tropicana will become the ‘official juice sponsor of the NFL.’ Frito-Lay will continue as the ‘official snack food of the NFL.’
Under an existing agreement, PepsiCo’s Gatorade continues to be the official sports drink of the league.
‘We are pleased to add PepsiCo to the NFL family of sponsors,’ said NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. ‘We look forward to working closely with PepsiCo to develop NFL-themed programs and initiatives.’
