Paul Stewart has announced his resignation from the position of Executive Director of Jaguar Racing. Paul, son of three-time world champion and Jaguar Racing board member, Jackie Stewart, was diagnosed as having a treatable cancer [malignant lymphoma] of the colon in April this year. He stepped down from the position of Chief Operating Officer at the time and took sick leave. He has since been undergoing chemotherapy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Paul Stewart said; ‘Although my doctors are pleased wlth my progress I will be required to make frequent visits over the next two years to Minnesota in order to complete my on-going treatment and under the circumstances I feel this will make it extremely difficult to carry out my responsibilities for the company’.

‘As a result, I have decided that I must resign from Jaguar Racing and have advised Neil Ressler, Jaguar Racing Chairman, that I am unable to continue as an Executive Director of the Company’.

Neil Ressler, Chairman of Jaguar Racing said: ‘I fully understand Paul’s decision, he will receive all the support he needs from his friends at Jaguar Racing. ‘Paul, along with Jackie, was the driving force behind the foundation of the Stewart-Ford team. Prior to his illness, Paul played a vital role in the management of Jaguar Racing when it came under Ford Motor Company ownership.’
