Olympic cycling champion Pascal Richard has not been selected for the Swiss Olympic road race squad. The Team Linda McCartney cyclist will therefore not be able to defend the title he won in Atlanta.

The Swiss federation selected Laurent Dufaux, Alex Zülle, Oskar Camenzind, Mauro Gianetti and Markus Zberg for the Sydney Games. It was probably the 36-year-old Richard’s last chance to compete at a major event.
