London, UK: 3 December 2001:- Octagon UK has been appointed by Vodafone to create a global marketing communications programme and a series of major events to maximise the company’s sponsorship of the Ferrari Formula One team.
This appointment follows on from Octagon UK’s launch announcement event at the Monaco Grand Prix this summer regarding Vodafone’s sponsorship of the Ferrari team.
Following a competitive pitch Vodafone awarded the contract to Octagon UK to develop a series of original events for both its corporate and consumer audiences at the seventeen Grand Prix races taking place in 2002. In addition, Octagon UK is creating a comprehensive worldwide PR strategy which will be implemented during the Formula One season next year to raise awareness of Vodafone’s sponsorship of the Ferrari team to the company’s key consumers.

Octagon UK confirmed that a number of new appointments have been made in order to assist the existing Vodafone account team in the delivery of the event and marketing communications programme for 2002.
