London, UK:– Octagon CSI, the television rights and production division of Octagon, announced today that it had been appointed by the Japan Football Association (JFA) to distribute the worldwide television rights to a selection of pre-World Cup friendly matches being held in Japan this summer.

The agreement grants Octagon CSI with the television rights to all countries outside of Japan, and for all matches not including the Japanese national team. The first round of matches begin on 15 May 2002

Mr Onozawa, General Manager of planning, Japan Football Association, commented: ‘We considered our television rights needs very carefully and felt that Octagon CSI are best placed to achieve international audiences for these matches.’

Paul McGrath, Senior Vice-President of sales, Octagon CSI, commented: ‘We are obviously delighted to be awarded this contract. We are confident that we can maximise the distribution of television rights and achieve the highest level of interest and support within each country.’
