Octagon, one of the world’s top sports and entertainment marketing firms, has announced several global executive promotions.
Rick Dudley, President and CEO of Octagon, has announced the formation of a Management Executive Committee that will provide leadership and governance for the global sports marketing powerhouse. Dudley has appointed Phil de Picciotto, Karl Bistany, Curt Curtis, Michael Bucks and Mark Irvine to this Committee.
Phil de Picciotto will continue in his role as President of the firm’s Athlete & Personality group and Karl Bistany will remain President of Octagon CSI, its television division.
In addition to his role on the Executive Committee, Michael Bucks has been appointed to Chief Operating Officer of Marketing/Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Bucks has held several positions at Octagon including Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Head of Business Affairs for Octagon CSI, the television division of Octagon. Prior to Octagon, Bucks was a director at Price Waterhouse Corporate Finance. He replaces Tim Moufarrige, who recently left the global company to pursue personal interests. Mr. Moufarrige had been Octagon’s President, Marketing for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific for 3 years. Octagon wishes Tim the very best for the future.
Curt Curtis, formerly Chief Marketing Officer, has been appointed Senior Executive Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Business Development. Curtis joined Octagon in September 2002 after 16 years at IMG and was also a co-founder of MarComm Partners.
Mark Irvine has been named Chief Financial Officer. He has held several positions within the IPG Sports and Entertainment Group/Octagon family including VP Mergers/Acquisitions and VP Finance.
