Beverage Partners Worldwide (Europe) AG, a joint venture company of Coca-Cola and Nestlé, and its Ice Tea brand Nestea is now Official Partner of the Beach Volleyball European Championship Tour 2004.

Hans Savonije, CEO of Beverage Partners Worldwide, says: ‘Beach Volleyball is a very good platform for Nestea to reach active and spontaneous people looking for natural refreshment without compromising on taste enjoyment.’

Global Sports Marketing’s Managing Director Christian Scholbrock, on the other hand, is more than pleased to have found such a strong, globally acting partner: ‘Nestea supports the European Championship Tour and the tournaments with a far-reaching engagement in promotions and services as well as with refreshments including the Official 2004 European Championship Tour Ice Tea.’

Nestea’s goal in this partnership with Europe’s elite Beach Volleyball is to transport its brand and to profit from the sand artists’ dynamic surroundings and atmosphere. ‘Beach Volleyball offers a professionally structured platform on the highest level. In addition, as an Olympic sport it has a huge fan base, which enjoys Beach Volleyball either competitively or just for the fun of it’, says Hans Savonije.

Seemingly 2004 will be the most important year for European Beach Volleyball in its still short history. On the one hand there are the Olympic Games in Athens where Beach Volleyball again will be one of the major attractions for spectators and media, on the other hand there is the European Championship Tour further expanding. The Tour will stop in at least four of the following five countries this summer: Italy, Turkey, Spain, Switzerland and last but not least in Germany for the European Championship Final, to be held in June in Timmendorfer Strand. This tournament is greatly anticipated as Olympic qualification points will be awarded for participation in Athens. ‘All in all this is a great package and we are glad to be a part of the team’, says Hans Savonije. Good news for everyone who could be worrying about the heat at the European Championship Tour 2004.
