18th June 2004: Anheuser-Busch’s Michelob ULTRA, the 5% premium lager with low-carbohydrates, is to sponsor the Tour de France 2004 on ITV.

The Tour de France, returns to ITV in July to see if five-times winner Lance Armstrong can become the greatest ever rider in the event by winning his sixth title.

The broadcast sponsorship deal includes credits on both ITV1 and ITV2, branded promotional trailers and a microsite within www.itv.com

The deal was negotiated by Jamie Wilson and Stewart Hunt at ITV Sales and Busch Media Group.

Randall Blackford, Anheuser-Busch Europe’s UK marketing director comments: ‘Michelob ULTRA’s sponsorship of ITV’s coverage of the Tour de France is a great fit for the brand, reaching our target audience of adults who have an interest in watching sporting activities.’

The Tour de France 2004 is a VTV production for ITV.
