Madrid 2012 has appointed Antonio Pérez de Guzmán to work on its international relations. It is hoped that he will bolster its chances of hosting the Olympic Games. The IOC (International Olympic Committee) will announce the candidate city on the 6th July 2005.

Perez de Guzmán, 52, was born in Malaga. He holds a Law Degree from The University of Seville. Since 1992, he has been working as a consultant for the IOC´s Olympic Solidarity Committee. He has been awarded the Olympic Order. Between 1992-8, he was a member of the European Olympic Committees’s Marketing Commission. For the past 3 years he has been managing The Spanish Olympic Committee.
