Jardine Communications, the company which specialises in building brands through sport, has appointed Lindsay Gomer as Managing Director. Tony Jardine, the company’s founder and ITV F1 expert, becomes CEO.

Jardine is also a director of podia group plc, the AIM listed sports communications company, following the acquisition of Jardine Communications in February 2002.

Gomer, 36, was previously Sales and Marketing Director of podia-owned, global motorsport licensing and merchandising services company, TMG. Prior to this he was Director of Sponsorship at Bates/141 Worldwide, the Cordiant-owned international communications agency.

At Jardine Communications, Gomer will be responsible for building new business through new and existing clients and further integrating the company into the other communications services provided by the podia group.

Commenting on the announcement, Gomer said: ‘podia group’s diverse range of sponsorship, marketing and event management activities present Jardine Communications with excellent opportunities for further expansion, particularly in the football, motor and water sport sectors.’
