Despite a constructive exchange of views, representatives
of leagues and clubs, including members of the G-14 group, and delegates of the players’ union FIFPro have yet to reach
agreement on a unified position in view of the upcoming meeting with the European Commission on 16 February on the reform of the international transfer system.

Consultations among all parties will continue over the
coming days with a view to having another meeting next Monday at FIFA headquarters in Zurich.

FIFA General Secretary Michel Zen-Ruffinen and his counterpart from UEFA, Chief Executive Gerhard Aigner, jointly chaired today’s meeting in the morning.

After an initial presentation of the respective positions
by the various parties present and a first round of discussions, the parties were invited to pursue direct and specific negotiations regarding the minimum and maximum duration of contracts at various stages of a player’s career as well as regarding the unilateral breach of contracts.
