Kingston inmedia, the satellite-centric broadband solutions provider of Kingston Communications (KCOM.L), today announces it has won a renewed contract to downlink and distribute horse racing for Satellite Information Services Ltd (SIS Ltd) via a combination of satellite and fibre services for a further three years.
The agreement will see Kingston inmedia downlink a feed of the racing action from the Sirius 2 satellite and provide distribution services via transatlantic fibre to Philadelphia Park in Pennsylvania. The service will then be turned around and live pictures and commentary of the races will be broadcast by satellite to betting shops in the Caribbean.
‘Kingston inmedia provided a highly reliable service over the term of our initial contract, crucial for the betting industry where millions of dollars are waged every minute of every day. We aim to deliver a high quality service to our customers, and Kingston inmedia helps us deliver this,’ says Mark Kingston, Commercial Director of SIS Ltd.
Kingston inmedia operates cost effective direct and diverse fibre connections between London and New York and between London and Washington, with state-of-the-art technology, diversity and redundancy.
‘We are delighted to extend our relationship with SIS Ltd,’ says Matthew Ivey, Head of Sales, Broadcast division at Kingston inmedia. ‘The team at Kingston inmedia strives to provide the best and most appropriate solution for our customers at all times, and in this case we could see that the most fitting technology was fibre.’
