Eastman Kodak Company’s European, African and Middle Eastern Region has appointed Ketchum London to exploit its sponsorship of the Olympic Games in Athens next year. The pan-European programmes will roll out immediately across all of Kodak’s European, African and Middle Eastern markets.
With the overall campaign theme ‘Share the Spirit, Capture the Moment’, Ketchum London will centrally coordinate and implement the public relations programme across the EAME region targeting Kodak employees, trade and consumers.
Brian Bottomley, PR Director for Kodak, said: ‘Ketchum have a wealth of experience in both the corporate and sports sectors that will help us make this the ‘Best Olympic Games’ yet for the Kodak brand – in terms of increased sales, brand awareness and loyalty.’
Steve Martin, Director, Ketchum London, commented: ‘We are very excited to have secured this Kodak Olympic sponsorship business. The Olympic Games are one of the truly global events and we want to emphasise the part Kodak has played in supporting it. Building on our existing experience of working with Kodak in other areas, we are hoping to add immediate value to the sponsorship.’
As the only ‘sponsor’ at the first Modern Olympic Games in 1896 Kodak’s association with the Olympic Movement is probably the longest ever partnership with any specific event.
This new project adds to Ketchum’s portfolio of Kodak business that includes Corporate and Consumer Imaging Group and includes products such as Kodak Advantix APS cameras, Kodak film, Single Use Cameras, Picture CD and Kodak Pictures photofinishing services. Ketchum is also responsible for promoting the company’s six core business divisions in the EAME Region: Consumer Imaging, Digital and Applied Imaging, Kodak Professional, Commercial Imaging Group, Health Imaging and Entertainment Imaging.
