IEC in Sports has been distributing the Swimming World Cup events since 1994 and is preparing for another succesful series of events in the 2004/05 season.

– It is one of the classical programming in our portfolio of events, says Jonas Persson, CEO of IEC in Sports.

The new Swimming World Cup series starts in November this year and goes on till February 2005.

– We have recently renewed our agreements with the World Cup events in Australia and in USA for the upcoming 04/05 series. Other deals with the event organisers within the series are long term or came into place earlier in the year, says Jonas Persson

– We think that swimming will get a real boost following the Olympics in Athens. While many sports have a lot of drug related issues to deal with at the moment swimming seems to be in good shape. Our recent TV-distribution of the Mare Nostrum events indicated an increased interest in the sport, Persson continues.

IEC in Sports has reached deals with the individual organisers for the World Cup events. The Berlin World Cup meeting is however with the German Swimming Federation, who has a overall TV-distribution deal with SportA.
