UK Terrestrial broadcaster C4 has today finalised an agreement to broadcast the FIS Snowboard World Cup for the coming winter. The deal completes C4’s line up of top class winter sports action, including the FIS Audi Alpine Ski World Cup, and the FIS Nordic World Cup.

Specialist UK production company Hothouse Productions will be producing 6 ½ hours of winter sports coverage per week for channel 4. Former British Ski Champion Nick Fellows, who set up Hothouse in 1998, will be the series main presenter and commentator.

Nick Fellows says;

‘We are thrilled to be able to bring six and a half hours of action every week to fans on Channel 4. We feel that the timing is perfect to appeal to the UK public. Not only is the participation in skiing and snowboarding at an all-time high, we also have a very professional and promising British team, with a number of potential race winners to follow this year.’

C4’s coverage will begins on Saturday, November 29 and runs through till March 2004. The weekly line up will be a Saturday morning magazine show, Alpine World Cup race highlights on Sunday mornings, Snowboard and Freestyle on Wednesday nights, Nordic coverage on Thursday nights and a full round-up of the weeks major action on Friday nights.

Hothouse has previously pioneered bringing extreme and niche sports to terrestrial audiences. Past credits include Beach Volleyball for C4, The Gravity Games for the BBC, and The Westminster 10k for Five.
