Guinness, owned by international drinks giant, Guinness UDV will sponsor next month’s three Test match series against World Champions Australia and have become the new sponsors for the Great Britain team.
The deal is worth more than £100,000 to the sport of Rugby League and it will give Guinness its first ever contact with the code.
Dave Callaghan, the Rugby Football League’s Executive Director of Communications, announced the new package at a media conference at the Great Britain team headquarters at the Marriott Hotel in Manchester.
He said: ‘The Rugby Football League is delighted to announce this sponsorship. Such relationships are essential within modern professional sport and we are indeed fortunate to be undertaking this series in partnership with such a well-known international brand as Guinness.
‘Test matches between Great Britain and Australia are the pinnacle of our sport’s competitive ladder and we believe that the reputation of these international fixtures have been further enhanced by the backing of Guinness who, in their turn, are world leaders in their field.
‘We hope that Guinness enjoy their first-ever association with our sport and hope that this could prove to be the start of a long relationship with our sport.’

The three-matches against Australia are scheduled for November 11 at the McAlpine Stadium, Huddersfield (Kick off 3.30pm); November 17 at Reebok Stadium, Bolton (Kick off 7.00pm) and November 24 at JJB Stadium, Wigan (Kick off 7.00pm).
