Greg Lemond, three-time winner of the Tour de France (1986, 1989, 1990) and two-time UCI World Champion (1983, 1989) participated in the cycling procession through Japan’s vibrant capital (Tokyo, 24 May 2009)

Tokyo, 25 May 2009 – Cycling Legend Greg Lemond was the guest of honor for the final day of the 13th Tour of Japan over the weekend. The Tour of Japan — held May 17-24 2009 — is the Japanese leg of the UCI Asia Tour and the nation’s premier international cycling race. After participating in a cycling procession, Lemond raced to the podium in Shinagawa to participate in the trophy ceremony of the 2009 Tour of Japan held on Sunday, 24 May.

The 752.6km Tour of Japan is part of the UCI Asia calendar. This year’s edition attracted 96 cyclists from 16 teams representing 8 nationalities.
