The Brazilian distributor is already present in around 180 countries
Globo TV Sports has confirmed its presence at Sportel, which will be held in Miami from March 12th to 14th. The distributor is in stand A25/A26. Globo TV Sports specializes in providing Brazilian sporting events to the international market, including football championships, stock car, indoor football, beach volleyball and marathons.
The Globo TV Sports 2007 catalogue highlights Brazilian Magic Football, a package with 82 live games from the Brazilian and São Paulo championships. In the past six months, more than 50 countries have signed deals with the distributor to broadcast the package. Today, Brazilian Magic Football is present in around 180 countries across the world, reaching millions of football fans in Asia, North and South America, and Eastern and Western Europe.
Once again, the Brazilian Championship has proved to be one of the most competitive, dynamic and exciting events in the world. Internacional won the title of best football team in the world on defeating Barcelona at the Fifa Clubs World Cup, and Brazil is the country with the largest number of world titles in the history of the Cup. Moreover, Brazil is recognized as an endless source of ace players, giving rise to some of the greatest players in the international arena.
“Brazilian Football is, without a doubt, one of the strongest in the world. We have in the Brazilian Championship five world interclub champions – São Paulo, Internacional, Flamengo, Grêmio and Corinthians – and the official seal of football, for having won five World Cups,” states Marcelo Spínola, director of Globo TV Sports.
In addition to its high technical quality, Globo TV Sports provides clients with much support material on its web site, all in English, comprising up-to-date daily data on the games, historical information on the most important Brazilian clubs, exclusive interviews with top players, behind the scenes specials and calendars with the times of upcoming games.
Another top feature of the Brazilian distributor is Foot Brazil, a weekly 26-minute English language program with special material from behind the scenes, training, line-ups and player profiles. The program is in great demand in Africa, Europe and Asia. With Foot Brazil, the public can follow the daily lives of the great world champion clubs, learn about the championships, see exclusive interviews with the most coveted players and coaches in the international field, and much more. The production has a highly experienced team of TV Globo journalists that, for more than 30 years, have been covering the greatest national and international sporting events, such as the World Cup, the world Formula 1 and the Olympic Games.
“We’ll be bringing to Sportel Brazilian Magic Football, which has become a strategic tool in programming schedules. We combine the high attractiveness of five-time world champion football with our extensive experience in covering major sporting events for TV Globo. This mix guarantees an aggressive positioning in the market and has brought us around 180 countries in a little more than a year of operations for Globo TV Sports,” says Spínola, proudly.
The Globo TV Sports portfolio includes other Brazilian sports: beach volleyball tournaments, with the participation of the most important names in the world sport facing off for the title on Brazilian beaches; international indoor football challenges, where the Brazilian team has already won more that 45 titles; Stock Car seasons, the main auto racing category in Brazil; and international marathons held in this country, such as the São Silvestre and the São Paulo International, which bring together athletes from across the globe.
