Grand Prize Winner to Receive Trip to Los Angeles and Chance to Meet the Dodgers

LOS ANGELES, April 7, 2000 – FOX Sports Latin America, the most widely distributed Spanish-language pay television sports network in the world, and STATS, Inc., a leading provider of online fantasy games, today announced the launch of ‘FOX Sports Grandes Ligas Interactivas 2000,’ the network’s Fantasy Baseball contest for the 2000 professional baseball season. Located on the FOX Sports Latin America Web site (www.foxsportsla.com), the Spanish-language Fantasy Baseball game runs through October 1, 2000, crowning weekly ‘Manager of the Week’ winners along with a Grand Prize winner for the season’s highest-scoring fantasy manager.

‘For baseball fans, nothing adds more excitement to following the ups and downs of the baseball season than charting and managing the performance of their own Fantasy Baseball team,’ said Andrew Thau, Senior Vice President of Operations and Network Development, FOX Sports International and General Manager, FOX Sports Latin America. ‘As a primary source in Latin America for Major League Baseball games, highlights and news, FOX Sports Latin America is proud to bring this thrilling opportunity to baseball fans in the region.’

‘Last year STATS produced the Official Rugby World Cup fantasy game for the European market followed by several International Soccer League fantasy games,’ said Stephen Byrd, Vice President of Fantasy Sports at STATS. ‘FOX Sports Grandes Ligas Interactivas 2000 allows us to continue our expansion by taking Fantasy Baseball, which we have been operating for 12 years, and introducing it to an entirely new audience.’

After registering online, free of charge, contestants may submit a 10-player lineup for each of the contest’s 25 weekly periods, beginning April 10. Points for each player are awarded based on the player’s actual hitting or pitching performance throughout the season. Each week, the registered user with the most fantasy points for that week will win the ‘Manager de la Semana’ prize – a deluxe FOX Sports sweatshirt.

At the season’s end, the registered user with the highest aggregate total of fantasy points from 21 of the 25 weeks will receive the ‘Manager de A±o’ Grand Prize – two roundtrip airfare tickets to Los Angeles, three nights’ hotel accommodations, two tickets to a 2001 Los Angeles Dodgers home game, $500 spending money, the opportunity to meet with Dodgers team members, and an escorted VIP tour of the 20th Century Fox movie studio. One second-place prize winner will receive $500, and the next 50 highest scorers will each receive a FOX Sports T-shirt and baseball cap. In addition, the ‘El Rey de Diamante’ prize of $750 will be awarded to the contestant whose team scores the highest point total in any single week of the season.
