Football Expo 2001 – The Worldwide Football Trade Show – takes place in Cannes, France in less than 7 weeks time!
In the past few days, a number of well known personalities from the football and business sides of the game have confirmed their presence as Guest Speakers at Football Expo.
On Tuesday, 30 January, Serge Mesones, advisor to French Sports Minister, Marie-George Buffet, will join Jon Holmes from SFX Sports Group and Philippe Diallo from the Union of Professional French Clubs to argue the different viewpoints on the major upheaval currently taking place in the football transfer marketplace. The problem of hooliganism in football will also be discussed on this opening day.
On Wednesday, 31 January, Howard Wilkinson, Technical Director of the Football Association, England and Craig Johnston, star of the great Liverpool FC team of the ’80’s will discuss the importance of Youth Football development to the future of the game worldwide.
Thursday’s highlight will be the Closing Debate, ‘Is football in danger of losing its appeal?’ which will be chaired by Keith Cooper, Director of Communications of FIFA.a topic guaranteed to be of major interest to the entire football world.
The organisers are also delighted to be able to confirm the presence of a number of well-known football stars of the past. Ex-England, Newcastle United and Olympique de Marseille star Chris Waddle, will join ex-England captain Ray Wilkins, and Clive Allen, now a football pundit on Sky Sports on the Masters Football exhibition stand. Masters Football from England organise hugely popular indoor and outdoor football tournaments for ex-professionals.
