FISU announces the cancellation of its events until 15 September 2020, in keeping with safety measures being taken around the world to combat the COVID-19 pandemic

As the International University Sports Federation (FISU) continues to monitor the global situation closely, with regard to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the FISU Steering Committee has decided to cancel the following events, after discussions with the local Organising Committees:

• Modern Pentathlon from 18 to 22 August in Warsaw (POL)

• Canoe Sports from 21 to 23 August in Minsk (BLR)

• Shooting Sport from 9 to 13 September in Pilsen (CZE)

• Mind Sports from 11 to 16 September in Bydgoszcz (POL)

“The COVID-19 situation continues to be very challenging and forces us to be on alert,” wrote FISU Secretary General & CEO Eric Saintrond in a communication to all member federations. “Although we regret to announce these additional cancellations, we believe that we must keep making cautious decisions, as the health crisis is still present.”

An innovative new online solution has been consolidated for the 2020 editions of the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA) and the FISU World Forum, which will now be held online. The FISU World Forum will take place from 12-14 August and FLVA will have two sessions; 22-23 June and 4-6 September. More details about registration for both events will be available in the coming weeks.
