Soccerex 2005 is pleased to announce, as part of the biggest ever convention staged on the business of football, the launch of a major football event in Dubai on Sunday 13th November 2005.  Taking place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel events arena and against the backdrop of the iconic  Burj Al Arab “Sail” hotel, The Soccerex Football Festival will be a 1 day football extravaganza the likes of which has never been seen before in Dubai.

Former England Manager and footballing legend Sir Bobby Robson and England Hero and Manager of Premier League team WBA Bryan Robson,,will conduct a world first live coaching master-class with some of the star players from the UAE National team taking part.

In addition, and breaking new ground in what is a world first for football, representatives from the Dubai Women’s Sports Club will demonstrate their skills under the supervision of Sir Bobby Robson, one of England greatest football legends. A first for Sir Bobby and women’s football in a Middle Eastern country.

Also in attendance will be the following global legends:

Gerard Houllier, former Treble winning Manager of Liverpool and current Manager of Lyon
Leonardo, former legend for AC Milan and Brazil, a World Cup winner in 1994
Pierluigi Collina, former World Cup Referee, rated no.1 in the world by David Beckham
Ali Burjasem, a legend in Asia and who refereed the first game of the World Cup 2002
Andy Kopke, former German National Team goalkeeper and current GK Coach

In addition to this world class event, Eric Cantona, Man Utd legend and current global icon of Beach Football, will be on hand to demonstrate the latest football craze that is gripping the world of football as he shows off his skills to the crowd attending.

The event will be preceded by an international friendly between UAE and Brazil on Sat 12th November in Abu Dhabi, only 45 minutes drive from Dubai and on the evening of Monday 14th November, there will be an international Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Dubai with life time achievement awards for some of the games living legends including Ferenc Puskas, Sir Bobby Robson and Pierluigi Collina.

The event will broadcast live across the globe by Reuters, ESPN Star Sports, BSkyB, and coast to coast across the Middle East by Dubai Sports Channel, ART and Al Jazeerah Sport.

In addition there will be skills sessions, coaching demonstrations, 5-A-side games, beach soccer babes, freestyle performances, penalty shoot outs, music, entertainers, promotions and giveaways, this will be a celebration of all things football.

It will be THE celebrity football event of the 2005 calender in Dubai – a fun, interactive and colourful day.
