The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has appointed Arjen Meijer as its new Communications Manager.

A Dutch citizen, Meijer has resided in Switzerland since 2003 and has extensive experience as a consultant to numerous national and international sporting federations, including International Volleyball Federation, European Volleyball Confederation, Royal Dutch Tennis Federation, World Roller-Hockey Federation and the Olympic candidature of New York 2012.

“I am extremely happy to start working for the FIH, as the FIH is a very professional international sports federation,” Meijer said.

“I would like to further develop the great sport of hockey worldwide. I am really looking forward to the challenges of the position of Communication Manager for the FIH and I am very pleased to become one of the members of the ‘hockey family’.

“I would like to thank the FIH President, the office bearers and the executive director for their trust and confidence.”

Meijer will commence duties next Wednesday, 2 August, in a part time capacity before joining FIH full time from 1 October, 2006.
